AC Independence was founded in 2020 with a clear objective: create greater access to high-level soccer for players on Cape Cod.

Co-owners Evan Botting, Matheus Moreira and Sam Viana saw the need for a structured club environment that allowed Cape athletes to compete, develop and advance without leaving the region. The first fall season began with four teams.

Since then, AC Independence has grown to more than 30 boys and girls teams from U8 through U19, with players representing communities across the Cape and surrounding areas.

Our Mission

AC Independence was founded on the belief that every player on Cape Cod with the ability and desire to compete at a high level should have that opportunity close to home.

We aim to deliver the same elevated soccer experience found at larger regional clubs while maintaining the close-knit, community-driven atmosphere that defines Cape Cod. Excellence on the field is matched by accountability in the classroom and respect in the community.

Club Growth

AC Independence has grown intentionally, expanding not only in team numbers but in programming depth.

Today, ACI provides opportunities for players at every stage of development. Entry-level Town Programs introduce young athletes to the game in a structured and supportive environment. Seasonal camps and clinics offer focused skill development throughout the year. NextGen Academy bridges the gap for players preparing for Club competition.

At the highest level, ACI fields competitive boys and girls Club teams from U8 through U19, competing year-round within established regional leagues.

This comprehensive model allows players to begin their journey locally and advance within one consistent system. Families do not outgrow the club — they grow within it.
